I was lucky to have some great friends as a teenager. It makes me sad to read articles in the New York Times about books like this where we find that teen boys are too afraid of being stigmatized by having close male friends. It’s just wrong. The male friends that I made as a teenager literally changed the trajectory of my life. I’d be a completely different person today if it weren’t for the guys that I played Dungeons and Dragons with. No, I’m not kidding.
I truly feel that my teenage friends are the ones that pulled me out of going down the path of self destructive rage. Earlier this year I did a public performance with Portland Story Theater where I shared how I made such great friends as a teen. Here is a video of my performance.

There are old people that has a hard time to make friends with other teenager.. You remind me of my grandmother that really want to hang out with her teenage grandchildren..
