cori h."s article could have been written by my husband, except for a few things. we have been married for 27 years and i didn't get sick until about 11 years ago. he know's the vibrant wife and mother i used to be. maybe that makes it worse than if i'd been sick when he met me. at least he would have known what he was getting into. we also enjoy traveling and always tried to pack as many activities in as possible. we can no longer travel that way. we actually went to paris and i was too sick to go qith my husband and daughter to the LOUVRE! iv'e learned not to plan anything for the first day. i also plan to take a day "off" in the middle of the week. i am not able to do much most days, so i FORCE myself sometimes to go do something with my husband. i'm usually glad i did it but i'm also usually worn out. my daughter's school is 8 hours away by car, so trips are difficult for me, but i miss her so much, we go about every 5-6 weeks. i try to dwell on the positive but it's hard to. most days my pain level on a scale of 1-10 is about a 7-8. some days are even worse. my fatigue level is almost always a 10 . i'm not going to die from what i have, but sometimes that doesn't sound so bsd, i don't really want to die, i just want some relief from suffering. i believe that the caretaker spouse, the well" one sometimes has it worse than the sick one. it's so difficult to watch someone you love suffer. i think these spouses sometimes feel guily for being well. i think when 1 person in the family is sick, in any way, the whole family is "sick". during my daughter's teenage years she was so frustrated and angry alot of the time. (she could also bring me such joy and be so supportive. i wish everyone of you and your caregivers, the very best! LOL : )

Thanks for all the posts, Cory. I've enjoyed the season of A Good Husband.

Hopefully the rest of us husband and dad bloggers can fill the void.

You have done a fabulous job with your website. I've spent some time this morning going over your past posts, and I'm very impressed! Thanks for all your wisdom.

I don' t know if you are interested in sending people to other sites that are continuing on with your work, but my husband and I started a service called HusbandHero (www.husbandhero.com) , and we send monthly romantic ideas/marriage advice to husbands (and a few marriage-strengthening ideas to the "WonderWives").

My husband and I work on this together, and we love being able to help other couples. We're starting a blog soon, too. Anyway, I'd like to consider our site as one to which yours can "pass the torch". Marriage always requires work--we work on ours daily, and it's a great feeling to help others. (I'd be happy to sign you up for a free subscription, if you'd like) Thanks!

Cory,

You're going to be missed. Thank you for the time and effort you've put into every post you've made to help strengthen our marriages and families. I completely understand the investment of time and the various pulls and priorities that keep us from these endeavors.

It's been good reading each new thing here, and you'll remain in my prayers.
