Reader Poll: New topics.

by Cory H. on January 27, 2009

This Good Husband is about much more than just marriage advice.  He does a lot of things besides be married.  The editorial board is exploring options on what to write about in addition marriage (and yes, things to add to the tagline).  Some of the suggestions are:

  • My work in sales/sales advice.
  • The world of the Theatre.
  • Mormonism.
  • Internet Marketing.

All of these topics have been touched upon at some point over the last year, but I’m thinking of writing more overtly about these things.  The question is would you, the reader, be more interested in reading about those things here on A Good Husband, or on a seperate blog?

Vote on the side panel, let me know any thoughts you have in the comments below.

Stick with marriage. I find it fun when a question is posed and the people discuss it in the comments. Simple Marriage has done this some.

What you're doing is good. Please keep focusing on what your good at, and strengthening the current site. If you want to branch out, consider starting another site, or doing a guest post somewhere else.

Hmmm. It can be tough to maintain separate blogs. Seems like you can open it up to most or all of those topics and branch out into more of a "Succeeding in life from a Mormon point of view" theme. I personally wouldn't hold back from posting about anything that I was passionate about. Then again, my blog isn't as popular as yours. So, definitely spill the beans about internet marketing. :-)

I'm not married yet, but I enjoy reading your blog because it provides good insight into what to expect. I'd like to see more posts about the categories you have listed in your poll. I can relate to just about all of them.

If you increased the rate of posting on this blog and it didn't stay more or less on topic, I would be unlikely to continue following it.

I come here for the husband training, which is very entertaining and informative. If I want to read about sales or internet marketing, I have other resources. I believe that you could branch out into topics on manhood in general as they pertain to husbands and marriage, but your overall focus here should be on Good Husband-ing. That is your title after all. You could always start another blog for those other topics.
